Designed with efficiency in mind, the AbramsX will be more agile and quiet than the average heavy tank and will require 50% less fuel than its predecessor, the M1A2 Abrams. Because of the M1A2’s outstanding performance in the field, many of the goals for the AbramsX are designed to meet, rather than exceed, the strong points of the M1A2. Early prototypes show a 10 ton weight cut, the ability to operate solely on electricity for short periods of time, and several fully unmanned weapons of varying calibers.
