Joan of Arc

“A hero and symbol of France!”

Description

Along with Alexander the Great and Cleopatra, Joan of Arc is one of the three Generals unlocked when you first build the Castle in the Medieval Age. After level 21 these Generals will ride tanks and have 3 range.

Historical Description

"Joan of Arc (1412-1431) 'The Maid of Orléans' is considered a heroine and a symbol of French unity and nationalism. Born a peasant, Joan believed that God had instructed her to save France by expelling its enemies. With no training, Joan convinced Prince Charles of Valois to let her lead the French army to the besieged city of Orléans and see him crowned King. When she managed to lift the siege in just 9 days, news of her miraculous victory spread wide and far igniting French morale and paving the way for their final victory. After being captured by Burgundian forces, she was tried for witchcraft and burned at the stake at the age of 19. However, 25 years after her execution, Pope Callixtus pronounced her innocent, declared her a martyr and she became the patron saint of France."

Attacking Strategies

Joan of Arc lv 20

Joan of Arc at level 21+ in a tank

  • Joan of Arc can tank up defensive damage and deal damage to enemy defenses/Troops.
  • If you are attacking without Tanks with your Troops, Joan of Arc can take up some of the damage, and is best used to take out Mortar fire. Beware not to rally your troops with Joan of Arc to a Mortar that can still hit your troops, since Joan of Arc will be the only one left alive.

Trivia

  • Joan of Arc's horse is the same as the Guard Chevalier's.
  • Joan of Arc was the daughter of a tenant farmer, Jacques d’Arc, from the village of Domrémy, in northeastern France.
  • Joan began to hear voices, which she determined had been sent by God to give her a mission of overwhelming importance: to save France by expelling its enemies, and to install Charles as its rightful king.
  • In May 1431, after a year in captivity and under threat of death, Joan relented and signed a confession denying that she had ever received divine guidance. Several days later, however, she defied orders by again donning men’s clothes, and authorities pronounced her death sentence.
  • On the morning of May 30, at the age of 19, Joan was taken to the old market place of Rouen and burned at the stake.
