General Information Edit
Historical Description Edit
The M67 Flame Thrower Tank was introduced to the American arsenal in 1955 just after the Korean War. Nicknamed the "Zippo" after the well-known brand of cigarette lighter, it was essentially a M48 Patton fitted with M7-6 tank flamethrower. The flame gun was housed in a dummy 90mm barrel with holes and drip shields, simultaneously aiding combustion and disguising the Zippo as a regular tank, The U.S. Army and Marine Corps made extensive use of the M67 in the jungles of Vietnam where the exceptional range of the flamethrower (over 840 feet) made it highly effective.
