Elite Rifleman North European

The Elite Rifleman is currently the highest level of Ranged Infantry available in the game.

Ranged Infantry is the second type of troop to use for the player in DomiNations. They're excellent against other infantry but are weak against defensive buildings and cavalry. They're unlocked in the Stone Age.

General Information Edit

Slinger

The Slinger is the first level of standard Ranged Infantry available to the player. They're unlocked in the Stone Age.

The standard Ranged Infantry's default A.I. or purpose is to kill any nearby units. If there are none, they will attack the nearest building possible. If there are nearby units and the ranged infantry is still attacking buildings, they won't attack the units until the building is destroyed. Unless however, if nearby units attack the Ranged Infantry, the Ranged Infantry will stop attacking the building and attacked the nearby units. Their disadvantages is that they can't do much against heavy cavalry and buildings such as catapults and mortars.

The Chinese Ranged Infantry has x2 the firing speed; although they do 40% less damage than the regular Ranged Infantry per shot. The British ranged infantry unit has +1 Range and 15% more damage than standard Ranged Infantry. The Korean Ranged Infantry unit does 40% more damage than regular Ranged Infantry.

Ranged infantry takes up only 1 space in a barracks. They are trained in 50 seconds.

Attacking Strategies Edit

  • Ranged Infantry has low health; making them vulnerable to defenses. Use Heavy Infantry as meat shields to protect the Ranged Infantry.
  • Ranged Infantry is cheap and can be used to set off hidden enemy traps.
  • Use Ranged Infantry to protect heavy infantry from other infantry so your Heavy Infantry won't get distracted.
  • Since Ranged Infantry can deal more damage to foot troops, bringing some along with Heavy Infantry and/or Heavy Cavalry will help deal with pesky defending foot troops!
  • Make sure to keep the Ranged Infantry behind your 'meat shields' or away from danger.

Defensive Strategies Edit

  • Ranged Infantry can be used as good Alliance Troops. One example is that they can shoot over walls to attack troops of the attackers forcing the troops to destroy the wall to kill them. Another thing is that they're good against other Heavy Infantry.

Trivia Edit

  • Soldiers with far-reaching weapons, called ranged infantry, have always been feared on the battlefield. Whether its arrows that block out the sun or hails of lead, these troops are the bane of regular infantry.
  • According to a poll from December 24, 2015 to June 6, 2016, Ranged Infantry is the most favorite type of troop with 266 out of 690 votes (38.55%).
  • There is a bug where the A.I. of ranged infantry are recalled to go to the center of the base, but they would attack walls even though there is an opening. It is mostly patched up.
