“These toutgh and powerful musket-armed soldiers from India deal devastating damage to enemy foot troops.”
General Information Edit
Historical Description Edit
Sepoys were soldiers from India employed by European colonial armies, most famously that of the British East India Company. In 1857, the sepoys mutinied due to rumors that the cartridges they had to bite were greased with the fat of cows or pigs, sacrilegious to Hindus and Muslims respectively. The rebellion was so devastating that it led to the loss of all Company power and the establishment of direct Crown control over India. Sepoys continued to serve Britain through WW II and modern armies of the Indian subcontinent use the term to denote the rank of private.
