Historical Description[]

The Boeing B-1B Lancer was initially designed and developed in the 1970’s to replace the B-52 bomber. Over the next 28 years, the B-1B was iterated on and improved until it first was deployed in combat by the United Statesduring Operation Desert Fox in December of 1998. The B-1B holds almost 50 world records for speed, range and payload capacity. Its overall combat functionality could not be rivaled by any other bomber in its class.
